Each week the Ace of Spades wasn’t found, the jack pot grew by 30 per cent of the weekly ticket sales. A weekly prize of 20 per cent of that week’s ticket sales, was instantly awarded to anyone whose ticket number was picked. Each week an envelope was opened until someone was able to ‘Catch the Ace’. Ticket holders could pick what envelope they thought contained the ace of spades. How did Catch the Ace work? The raffle started with 52 numbered envelopes, each containing a card inside with one envelope holding the ace of spades. A Catch the Ace raffle seemed like a reasonable opportunity and fortunately it helped us raise funds for four very important local organizations”. “In the absence of face-to-face fundraising, we turned to the internet and options for the public to participate in our fundraising from home. ![]() “Lions’ fundraising activities have been significantly impacted by COVID-19 the past two years, so new opportunities were explored,” said Lions Club president Chris Allen. ![]() The Fowlers Corners Lions Club put the Lions’ motto, “We Serve,” into action when they launched their Catch the Ace raffle in April, raising funds to help local charities continue their work by supporting those in need in our community.
